STORY OF AN ARTIST
When choosing how we guide, shape, & teach the youth of today, we choose to do the same with everyone's future.
I love commission portraiture & have several styles within which I create these. I also have a passion for abstract art. My best personal goal is to marry these two worlds and create abstract (or abstracted) portraiture.
I have always been heavily influenced by the Mississippi Delta & its idiosyncrasies. My childhood in the deep south is what continues to bring me back to creating work about the youth of today.

WHEN: I can't remember the first time I picked up a pencil or paintbrush. I started following along with my grandmother as soon as I could hold something in my hand. I would love to say that I have been creating art my entire life.
WHAT: I have always been drawn to the images, objects, feelings, & memories of childhood. I attempt to capture the internal conversations, external relationships, & the memories of those that linger from this period of life.
WHERE: I was born & raised in Greenville, MS. I recently moved to Milton, Ontario, Canada with my husband and infant son.
WHY: Following the loss of my father, I turned to artworks that I feel he would find interesting. I use these images as inspiration to continue our conversations about the art world. The works are layered with multiple materials and found papers to elicit the feeling of a fading memory, one I desperately want to hold on to.
